Q1. Why is Twitter still a great marketing tool for small business owners?
Twitter has 326 million monthly active users and 500 million tweets posted every single day. It is a relevant marketing tool that will help you get seen and heard!
With Twitter you have the ability to connect with your ideal customer in real-time. That is pure gold. It’s a great listening tool that will help you learn about your customers – what they like and dislike and any suggestions they might have, etc.
Q2. What are your tips for growing a relevant and engaged Twitter community?
The one thing I found that separates the high profile users on Twitter from everyone else is being consistent. If you want to stand out, get on Twitter every day and take time to connect and engage with your community.
Tweet every day – a minimum five times a day.
One of the best ways to attract attention on Twitter is tweeting every day. You need to be seen and heard. I recommend spreading tweets throughout the day using tools like Buffer, Hootsuite and Social Jukebox.
Go through notifications daily & respond.
You should view your “Notifications” as the jackpot of Twitter. Think about this: every notification is a tweet from someone who mentions you by name. They are pointing you out. Reply back!
The most important thing you can do on Twitter is engage. Think of it as one big happy community that connects you with millions of people. I like to view Twitter as a giant cocktail party. Spend time every day engaging in conversations.
Q3. How did you get started with selling your first social media and video workshops?
The best way to start selling your workshops and courses is through email marketing as well as social media, especially Twitter. I have found organic promotion and word-of-mouth marketing works best.
Last year I launched my Video Like A Rockstar mastermind program using word-of-mouth marketing. It was a beta group of 31 amazing women who wanted to up their video marketing. After that successful launch I took all the feedback and made it better.
I got my best results selling my Video Like A Rockstar program using Twitter marketing. Videos, GIFs and emojis worked extremely well. Video testimonials from my students converted well. My best advice is to experiment and try things to see what works.
Twitter has a little known feature called Media Studio. You can upload videos and add metadata including a call-to-action link. This is incredibly helpful in your Twitter marketing of products and services.

Q6. As a champion of video marketing, what are your top tips for using video to get noticed by the right people?
Twitter video is one of the most underutilized features yet it’s one of the best ways to stand out.
You can post a video on Twitter that is up to 2 minutes and 20 seconds long using the native mobile app.
I encourage you to take time today to go through your notifications and reply to some of the tweets with a video like this.
Twitter has a little known feature called Media Studio. You can upload videos and add metadata including a call-to-action link.
Tweets with videos are six times more likely to be retweeted than tweets with photos, and three times more likely to be retweeted than tweets with GIFs.
